Yin Yang Yoga

Yin Yang Yoga is a rewarding combination and is suitable for all levels.
The class sequence combines traditional Hatha Yoga (Yang) with Yin Yoga (Yin).
Hatha Yoga (Yang) being the first half of the sequence and Yin Yoga as the second half. The Yang warms up the body and rids the body of excess Prana (energy). Following a traditional Hatha Yoga practice we are able to feel a deeper aspect and perspective for each pose. Our focus is on connecting to our breath, the present moment and of course our body & asana (pose). After this your body is ready to relax and lengthen during the Yin segment.
Yin Yoga targets the connective tissue in the body, fascia, ligaments, joints, bone and tendons. Yin Yoga sequences consist of a series of passive floor poses held for up to 5 minutes or more. These poses mainly work the lower part of the body – the hips, pelvis, lower spine. These areas are especially rich in Yin tissue. We allow our muscles to relax to access the deeper levels, finding our ‘sweet spot’ and our stillness within our own body. Yin Yoga can be a restorative/meditative practice, which encourages us to practice yoga mindfully, with awareness and openness.
Yin Yang Yoga is a practice that encourages optimum health and balance within our body, mind and energetic system.
The class will start at 6:30pm. Please arrive no later than 6:25pm.
